Blogger’s Quilt Festival: Large Quilts

I finished this quilt back in January, and it represents a lot of firsts for me as a quilter.  It’s the first quilt I made in 2014.  It’s the first quilt I quilted on my new Bernina 710.  It’s the first time I mixed fabric lines.  It’s the first time I broke into “improv” and design your own quilt.  It’s the first LARGE quilt I made.  AND, It’s the first quilt that sold in my Etsy Shop. I’ll be entering this into the Large Quilt category for the Bloggers Quilt Festival over at Amy’s Creative Side – one of my favorite online events which happens twice a year.  It’s so exciting to be participating this year.  Last year at this time I didn’t have any finished quilts.  Here, a year later, I had 23 to choose from!  (Obsession)

(I also chose this quilt because of the cows.)

Let’s give it up for the Cerise fabric and Cerise thread!

(More cows?  Why not!)

I love every part of making this quilt and I learned so much about designing, quilt math, and patience while making it.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go check out the other quilts in the large quilt category!

  1. This is lovely Ashley, I don’t remember seeing it before. Love the pink thread on the blue, it’s really pretty. Can’t believe you’ve made 23 quilts in a year that’s great going!

  2. 23? Seriously. 23.

When I grow up, I want to be you.

It is beautiful. Smile good quilts smiles, girl. You deserve them.
