Sew, Who am I?

In a nutshell…
Ashley

Welcome!
My name is Ashley like so many other 1980’s baby girls.
(Why, yes, I do look like this everyday…)

I’m a teacher by day, really 24/7 until glorious summer rolls around.
Nothing makes me happier than when a child gets excited over a book.

I just started my quilting journey.
Really, January 2013.
So, if I can do it, you can too!

This is what I’ve learned:
I will never have enough fabric…
and it doesn’t have to be perfect.

My husband’s logical and organized brain is the yin to my yang.
My sisters are my two best friends.
I only iron when I need to piece a quilt block.

Join my journey to turn my Pinterest Quilt Board into a reality…

  1. Thanks very much for stopping by my blog and for the follow. Love your quilts, it’s nice to find someone else just starting out……..ps I know exactly what you mean about the ironing!

  2. It’s so nice to see someone else who says they will never have enough fabric and that they only iron when quilting…. because let’s face it … hangers are there for clothing to hang their creases out.. lol
I was reading your blog about FMQ and it took me about five years of making quilts and tying them before I had a go and now I can’t go anything other than FMQ things… so good luck with yours and I’m sure it will be fab.

  3. I love your blog. I would like to send you a picture of the wedding quilt I made for my daughter. It is black and white and bling. At first it was a disaster because no matter what I did those little pieces did not fit the white fabric beside it. I ended up appliqueing the little pieces to a white square. My boss quilted it for me. After months of frustration the quilt turned out beautiful.

  4. Hello, I love your quilts, I love how sweet you and your husband are to each other, and I love that you listen to your mother. Wish mine was still around to tell me what to do…
Kate, sitting in wrinkled linen yet again despite the new ironing board

  5. I’m not normally one to leave comments, but just had to share how much I enjoy searching through your blog. I too am a teacher by day and… Well avid napper in the evening. Actually, I’m a runner obsessed w medals and my friend and I have a handmade children’s boutique on the side (when there’s time). I’m venturing into the quilting world this week and although I’m nervous, I’m also pretty excited. I searched through about 20 of my great aunt’s quilting magazines and managed to find one for my first adventure that didn’t completely look like a little ol’ granny quilt. After accidentally stumbling across your blog and seeing how fun it can be, I’m super excited and very inspired! I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions for you in the future, but for now, thanks for sharing 🙂
