The Gypsy Wife quilt is coming right along. I love this quilt so much. Now I have 24 square in a square blocks left. Grrrrr. Those little devils. This weekend I have a bunch of square in a square courthouse blocks to make, and to be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to making them. Now, they’re my favorite blocks! Here’s the progress I made this weekend:
(Personal favorite!!!! That flower, though!)
Ahhhh, the fussy cutting potential!
So, honestly, after making these blocks I wanted to scrap the whole quilt and start over. I feel like they’re getting so much better as I go. This wall makes me so happy!
That is, until I started planning out the strips for this quilt. Y’all, these “instructions” are freaking bonkers. BONKERS. So bonkers that I had to bring in reinforcements: ice cream.
Only 24 blocks to go – so far I’ve used 50 AMH fabrics and the goal is to use 100. HAHAHA. I think I can do it 🙂
your fabric choices are fabulous! Looks gorgeous!
Yes, gorgeous fabrics and colors! Especially loving the coneflower fussy cut 😉
This is all kinds of awesome!! I have been looking at this pattern for so long but have heard so many horror stories I have avoided it. You are almost there though – you can do it!! I am sure the ice cream helped and you have it all under control 🙂
go for it! Love the ice cream photo! It’s a bonkers pattern alright but somehow they all come together and look fantastic in the end!
These are gorgeous! AMH is the perfect fabric for this pattern—so much wonderful, chaotic color—and I love the way you are featuring fussy cuts! You make me want to try this pattern myself, except that you’ve already done the best pattern-fabric combo, so what could I add? 😉
I love that first block most of all… What flavour ice cream? I’m glad to see you weren’t holding back there!
So beautiful! Love the coneflower. You’re such an inspiration!
It’s gorgeeeeoooooouuusss! But I am SO done with bonkers instructions. DONE. Which is why I will never make this quilt and sew it vicariously through you 😀
I’m not an AMH fan, but those blocks are fab…and so well done! Good job!! 🙂
It’s looking Fabulous. if you need help with the assembly I will be glad to help you — it took me and another of my friends about 2 days to figure it all out.
I have missed you! I hope you are just busy with life and all is well…
